Maayka is the story of a young girl, Soni, who remains strongly attached to her maternal home even after her marriage. The story explores the girl's lifelong bond with her maternal home.
After losing her parents in a bomb blast, Soni finds a confidante in her younger sister Maahi (Neha Bamb). Life changes after Soni's marriage to Veer (Vineet Raina) as she is not well accepted by her in-laws. A fateful turn of events ruins Soni's life as she is widowed soon after marriage.
A rude shock awaits her when she comes to know that her ex-boyfriend Jeet (Romit Raj; earlier played by Vikrant Rai) is now married to her sister-in-law Charanjit aka Cherry (Damini Anand). Angered at this revelation, Soni's mother-in-law (Shoma Anand) and Cherry make plans to oust her from the household.
It is in fact Cherry who accidentally kills her own brother Veer while planning to kill Soni. Soni now has to fight for her own survival even while trying to find justice for herself.
